I try to get my love of colour and pattern across in my paintings, and I find my seaside based subject matter and huge Suffolk skies are perfect for my broad brushstrokes and typical use of vibrant colour.
My paintings of Southwold are often mixed with objects from one of my many
collections of Russian dolls, folk art. Vintage fabrics, shells, jugs and coastal memorabilia.
My still lives are again concerned with surface pattern and colour within the coastal subject.
The sea and its seaside towns and harbours hold a lifetimes worth of inspiration and I hope
that my paintings convey my enjoyment of living in such a wonderful place.
